Ragtag is leveraging the expertise of our community of technologists to help local and state campaigns and grassroots organizations level-up their digital security practices. We are working directly with campaign staff, organizers, activists, and volunteers to help them implement digital security best practices, and make security a part of their routine. Our trainings go beyond simply handing out a security checklist, and instead help participants understand both why the security steps are important, and how to actually implement them in their own lives and on their campaigns.

There’s a lot of digital security advice out there, and it can get overwhelming quickly. In this workshop, we will help you determine your level of risk and what preventative steps you should take to minimize security vulnerabilities. You will leave with a plan for your digital security and resources to help you achieve it.

These steps are relatively simple, and the tools are low-cost or free, but they can have a significant impact on you and your organization's security. Everyone on your team should follow them.
Two Factor Authentication
Ragtag will show you how to set up and use Two Factor Authentication (2FA). We'll talk about what 2FA is and why you should use it. You'll leave the training with 2FA set up on your G Suite or Gmail account, and the know-how to set it up on the rest of your accounts. Be sure to bring your computer and smartphone with you, and be prepared to sign in to your G Suite or Gmail account.
Preventing Phishing
Join Ragtag for a half-hour training on protecting yourself and your organization from phishing. We’ll talk about the signs of a phishing attempt, what to do if you receive a suspicious email, and preventative measures that can thwart a phishing attack.
Sharing Accounts 101
Do you have a social media or email account that you have to manage with multiple people? Learn why sharing the account by sharing the password among multiple people is risky, and why setting up account delegation allows for better control and security. We will explain account delegation and walk you through setting it up on your Gmail, Facebook, or Twitter accounts.
